Domestic Diva - Failsafe-Mexican-Nachos-with-Chokoacamole

Failsafe Mexican Nachos with Chokoacamole

Domestic Diva: "It’s hard to even try to replicate mainstream recipes to the Failsafe diet, but I like to try and experiment so that it adds a new excitement (especially for kids) to the ordinary and limited food we eat while going failsafe. I have adapted my failsafe mince recipe slightly, added black and red kidney beans and served it with crispy Mountain bread turned into a ‘corn chip’ variation, with Chokoacamole!! I know nothing can compare to the real thing…" [recipe link]

Chicken Balls and Noodles in Broth

Chicken balls and noodles in broth
Real Meals: Dinner tonight needed to be something light, for my visitors who had already been out for lunch. But it also needed to fill the frillypantii tummies. An idea for some sort of Asian style broth was forming... (not that I know anything about Asian cooking)... where people could choose to go heavy on the broth or heavy on the fixings. Well, this absolutely worked a treat! I am so pleased with this... the kids all had seconds. I think most of the grown-ups did as well. Tonight this served 8 people, along with some tasty bread. If you would like templates, there are heaps to choose from online if you search. Here is a cute lizard one to get you started. Aboriginal Symbol Stones are another activity to tell dream time stories.

Indigenous Rainbow Serpents, (bottom left) this art project requires cardboard cut in the shape of serpents, different coloured wool to wrap around and buttons glued on for eyes.
