It's August already! I don't know about you, but time seems to be disappearing in the blink of an eye. I hope the recipes featured in this edition help to bring some normality back into your busy weeks this month.

World Breastfeeding Week is 1-7th August. To find out more about breastfeeding and failsafe, see "in the spotlight" section below.

Monday 20th August is RSPCA Cup Cake Day. If you are going to be involved in this cause, this edition has a few failsafe cup cake recipes that you can whip up.

Chicken Casserole with Savoury Biscuits

Cooking For Oscar: The inspiration for this dish came from a recipe called Hungarian Chicken, which has biscuits (scones) cooked on top. Its a really nice dish with paprika, tomatoes, capsicum and other things we can’t have. I decided to use the biscuit concept with a chicken casserole and to make savoury scones (i.e. hidden vegetables). The scones in the original recipe are the usual round shape, but as Oscar was helping me make them we used people and dog shapes. [recipe link]

Breastfeeding and failsafe

It is World Breastfeeding Week is from the 1-7th August. There are a lot of mum on the Failsafe Facebook groups doing the failsafe diet for their breast fed babies. Navigating failsafe for 2 is a different ballgame. Recording and working out possible reactions from what mum has consumed and from how long ago can be difficult.
